Nawabganj

Nawabganj is a Tahsil on the Bareilly - Pilibhit road, about 30 K.M. from Bareilly city. In order to establish the presence of the Church and to begin the evangelizing mission in the rural area, the need for opening a mission station here was strongly felt. Hence, a plot of land was bought in 1993. Fr. Elias Mark D'Souza was appointed in 1995 as the first resident priest to initiate the work. As an entry point to the locality, foundation for a school was laid on the 23rd of January, 1996. It was blessed and inaugurated on the 3rd of July, 1996 by Bishop Anthony Fernandes. Sisters of the Holy Cross have offered themselves to assist the priest in pastoral, social, educational and evangelical activities.
